Pay per lead model

If you already have the marketing campaigns going we usually set the current lead price as the base and optimize towards decreasing it or scale the current traffic volumes having the same goals.

Otherwise, we make our research and offer to the product owner the lead price that we see as rational.

Please note that every form has its pros and cons.

While working on the PayPerlead model allows you to eliminate the risks of wasting your budget it might also significantly limit your options.

In this case, the marketer will be working towards delivering you the cheapest leads and ignoring the small, but quality sources of traffic, sources that develop your brand and other sources that are not associated with performance-oriented results. Also naturally, in the case of the small volumes marketing manager will not be able to spend much time on strategic planning and other activities that are very important to build a successful online presence for the product or the service.

Choosing the subscription model at first might seem a little risky as the whole marketing efforts might not bring any results, but the reality is that the marketing team is twice as interested to deliver satisfactory results for a client because it will be looking into continuous monthly payments further in the future. Having the advertiser subscribed to our monthly package allows us to create long term plans and get engaged with the traffic sources that would require the long term optimization process, something that is impossible on the pay per lead model.

There are plenty of marketing instruments that affect the brand in a very positive way while bringing little instant leads. The simplest example would be an article in the local newspaper that would include the link to the landing page of the product. The article itself will not make people want the product, but seeing that product is listed in the article on the landing page adds up to the buyer's confidence in the product while making a purchase.

It is very easy to fall into the temptation to get the cheap leads ignoring the quality of the traffic, however, the first payment made for the product should not be considered as the final destination, only as an intermediate step in the user journey. After paying for the product user might want whether to chargeback his/her money or to become a recurring user, decreasing the marketing share spend significantly.

Setting the cheap leads as your objective will bring the cost of your customer down as well as the quality of the engagement process. Lead generation for M3Cargo.com

Well-known Ukrainian logistic company M3Cargo (m3cargo.com) that specializes in shipping containers from China to eastern Europe was looking to scale significantly via online traffic channels. The client was interested in both experienced buyers and the largest audience that had never considered China as a supplier.

What is done?

The landing page was created where we collected the leads from Search, Facebook and publications in the local newspapers.

Those leads were redirected to our call tracking system and then to the client's call operators. The simple CRM system was provided to the client where every lead was marked with an appropriate status. All information about the quality of the lead ,along with its status, was sent back to the traffic source for further optimization. We were able to deliver not just the leads but also the real customers to our client at a cost 60 per cent cheaper than was initially planned.

The client did not participate in the technical setup and just received the calls from potential customers that were automatically transferred to the CRM system - the rest was on us. After the first month-long campaign provided excellent results, we were asked to set up another for this client, with different objectives.
